Logo / No Logo

The dial decides how a watch introduces itself. Before the bracelet catches light, before the case profile is noticed, before the movement is understood, the eye reads the dial. That is why the Logo / No Logo choice matters.

At ModTime, this is not a quality tier. Both options use the same dial. What changes is whether the maker's mark stays on the face.

What the dial actually is

Every ModTime watch is built around a genuine Seiko automatic movement and a genuine Seiko dial. The case, bracelet and hands are sourced separately from specialist component suppliers; cases and bracelets are 904L stainless steel. ModTime disassembles, modifies and reassembles these parts into its own designs, and each watch is assembled and inspected by hand before dispatch.

So the Logo / No Logo choice is not a choice between two different dials. It is a choice about one dial: the original Seiko dial, either signed as Seiko made it, or with the mark removed.

Logo: the Seiko dial, signed

A signed build keeps the original Seiko dial with the Seiko logo intact on the face. The dial and the movement behind it are genuine Seiko parts; the case, bracelet and hands around them are ModTime's own configuration.

Buyers who value visible provenance usually choose this. The mark on the dial is not decoration. It is the evidence that the component under the crystal is exactly what we say it is.

No Logo: the same dial, unsigned

An unsigned build uses the same genuine Seiko dial with the maker's mark removed. Nothing else changes: the same dial, the same Seiko movement, the same case and bracelet, the same build standard.

This path is often attractive to collectors and minimal-design buyers because it feels quieter. It removes visual noise and lets proportion, dial colour, hand shape, indices, case geometry and bracelet choice do more of the work.

The same build standard, a different character

Logo and no-logo builds are two finishes of the same watch. The choice does not make one serious and the other less serious. It changes what the dial says about itself.

Choose Logo if you want the Seiko mark visible and the origin of the dial obvious at a glance.

Choose No Logo if you want a cleaner face, quieter wrist presence and a design that puts materials, proportions and finishing first.

This matters because it keeps the story honest. The value of the watch comes from the components we select, the configuration, the assembly care, the final review and the clarity of the customer experience.

How to choose

If you want the provenance of the dial visible on the wrist, choose Logo.

If you prefer a quieter, unbranded face, choose No Logo.

If the watch is a gift, think about the receiver. Some people want the origin visible on the dial. Others prefer restraint. The right choice is the one that fits the way the watch will be worn.
